WHOOOOOOOO Pigs Souie

No, I wont be calling the hogs this weekend, but I will be surrounded by several thousand fans calling the hogs. Scariest Thing Ever.

Yes, I will be at the Arkansas Alabama game this weekend. A nice alternative to the off week garage sale that might happen without me.

Also coming up this weekend is my destiny (2-0) in fantasy football. Wow, I feel really pathetic now that I have called that my destiny. Anywho, watch out Adam.

And a final thought, I used to wear deodorant before I realized no one liked me anyway.

College football bad

Ok, college football is not so much bad as my ability to pick games...this week. At least I had a good enough lead in my league (a once commanding lead) to still be able to claim the top spot.

Anyway, I would much rather talk about fantasy football. Go Mr Bob's!! Ok, so it doesn’t have the same effect as go pokes, but I still kinda like it Go Mr Bob's!!

Yes, the first week of our league is mostly over, and my game is finished. Da Wombats look to have had the second highest score this week which is normally a good thing, but she had to go against the Ultimate Force that is Bob. (wow I usually don't get this big a head until several weeks into a successful season.) Yes, I won 78-59. But the Ducks and Silly Monkeys are still hanging with me as both are 1-0. Also one game has yet to be decided. N0rmally I would pick one of the teams (cement dements & shorty's) to cheer for, but honestly neither one scares me. I guess I should be rooting for the cement dements as the will meet their doom next week.

Hey, things other than football are happing. I may regret this, but let's talk politics. The US senate race here in OK is heating up. Amazing what can happen when you lie about your opponent and it seems no one cares. Not to mention CBS's "documents" which even Dan Rather has come out and said "I no longer have the confidence in these documents that would allow us to continue vouching for them journalistically." I bet today is a happy day to be Dan.

BTW does anyone else see this election (presidential) being a landslide for Bush? I know that I live in a conservative state and that may paint my views, but I just don't see a large portion of American's supporting Kerry by November. In fact I think a smaller percentage of Americans support Kerry due to the way most polling services look at party affiliation. Anyway, I guess I should actually do some work... since I'm at work.

Picks revisited

Wow, how’s that for a good sequel title? Much better than The Picks Strike Back.

So let’s see here a week ago I said
I had a commanding lead in the college pick’em. Still true.
My order for fantasy football. I stand by this order, but, since we won’t know how true that is for a while, at the end of this post, I will pick this weeks games.

One week later, it is getting harder to keep my prediction of an AL west wildcard. Stupid Yankees and Red Sox. And to be honest, I don’t care about the NL and will stand behind any pick that goes against the cubs. =)

I stand behind all my football picks, even if it’s just a slow start for Buffalo. (Hey it takes more than one loss to get a buffalo fan down, although four straight years of a certain loss did it.)

Now for the finale, (man am I cool or what)

Silly Monkeys v li’l brudder
This one is tough as the silly monkeys have yet to set a line up, but Li’l Brudder seems to be basing his team off how buffalo does, always a good sign. (unless you want to win)

Cement Dements v Shortys
Again, one team has not set their roster (shortys) but I have to admit CD looks tough with culpepper Alexander and Portis, that is if Alexander is full strength.

Ducks v Chonlahans
One, I do not take any responsibility for misspelling Chonlahan (I put the blame squarely on the first Chonlahan, what was he thinking?) Finally a game where both squads are set. For the C’s, 7 out of 8 players are from Oakland, this is a problem because Oakland plays buffalo this week. With that in Mind, I go with the priest holmes lead ducks.

Mr Bob v Da Wombats
No bias at all in the game prediction. Da Wombats look strong with Manning, A. Green and Faulk, but the Weak Wombat Wide receives will cause the team to fall just short of the sure to be strong Mr Bob’s.

And yes, I love the fact that I can post whatever I want here, whether anyone cares or not.

WFTV.com - Food - New Technology Predicts Fast-Food Orders

WFTV.com - Food - New Technology Predicts Fast-Food Orders: "One 28-year McDonald's manager calls the simulation 'the most impressive thing' he's ever seen."

--------------------------------------------------

Wow, interesting article. However I will admit that line had me laughing.

Prediction Time

Yes, that wonderful time of year when I say things that three months from now I will wish I had never written down (proof of things said in the past seems to haunt me.) First though, a look back at my last prediction, that I will win our college pick'em. After week one, I have a commanding lead with Martin, of course, bringing up the rear. Don't worry Martin, it’s always possible that Asa and I will both forget to make picks for four straight weeks and give you a chance.

Ok, so for today’s prediction number 1. Our church's (ok, youth group's) fantasy football finishing order. 1. Bob 2. Asa 3. Adam 4. Josh 5. Rachel 6. Michael. And although I haven't seen her team yet, we will though Tiffany in there between Rachel and Michael. I have to admit the team that scares me most is Rachel’s, I'm kind of hoping she gets bored with the process and loses points by not setting her starters every week. Even if not, I consider myself unstoppable with Trent Green, LaDainian Tomlinson, deuce McAllister, Jamal Lewis, Marvin Harrison, Torry Holt, Joe Horn, Todd Heap, Viniteri and the New England defense. And yes Asa, those last two still make me sick.

Finally real sports predictions. First mlb. The playoffs (and yes, this is pretty easy this time of year) Oakland, Anaheim (wc), Minnesota, Boston Atlanta, St Louis, San Diego, LA. Sorry Martin but you just handle the power of the Padres. Get it, padre power, both start with p....... ok, so obviously, the world series will be Oakland sweeping Atlanta.

Of Course, Buffalo will win the super bowl, and my cowboys behind heisman trophy candidate (you heard it here first, you know, unless you heard it somewhere else already) will finish the regular season 9-2 (second in the big 12 south). BTW asking who I thing will win the south is pointless, the only way I could truthfully answer that would make me quite sick, and no one wants that....... ok I don't want that.

Btw you should now be able to email my posts to friends. If you do so to someone who might get mad at say my NL comments, remember to tell then my name is Martin Grant and I live in Missouri. You can also tell them that I always wished I was a bob (coolest name ever) so I pretend to be on the internet.

We are just in the wrong league

Here are the standings for the AL west:

Oakland 79-54 .594
Anaheim 75-58 .564
Texas 73-59 .553
Seattle 51-82 .383

So my A's (having a great season, again) are in first place, much as I predicted about a month ago. However, I decided to look at the nl wildcard race for Martin's sake and I saw this leading it.

Chicago 73-60 .549

So the cubs are leading the NL wildcard, yet would be in 4th place in the AL west. To me, that seems wrong. I believe it is now time to send some AL teams over to balance out the weaker NL. I know the NL has the cardinals, but one strong team is not enough. We must act now before the NL goes the way of the WAC.
